long story short, depression fucks you up in pretty much every way, including your cognitive abilities. To say it makes you stupid though, sounds more like you're talking down to yourself. And if you're suffering from depression that's the last thing you deserve to do, you've got plenty of negativity to deal with already!

I have a question that's kinda dumb but I want to ask anyways, how does alcohol affect everyone's tulpas? I haven't drank heavy since Shade entered my life and I want to know how it will affect her if I get drunk? Is it the same as it is for the average person or does it affect them differently?

I don't personally drink, but I heard that taking substances may help or hurt communication and overall control of the system as a whole, it really depends.

Not that I've ever tried either of these, so I couldn't tell ya' from personal experience. Simply what I've heard from tulpamancers who can and do try these things.

We drink. I would not say the effect is positive on forcing, as alcohol tends to reduce focus for us. I don't use it as some sort of tulpamancy aid, it's just a recreational drug. And as for whether it will get them drunk, the answer to that depends on what you believe. They might not experience the physiological expects if you don't expect that (I've never bothered trying, we tend to drink together as a social activity anyway). None the less I would expect a tulpa operating out of a drunk brain to be less sensible.

Sounds like I could make an experiment out of it

I like it okay.

‍♀️ But the first time Lily got high she couldn't hardly talk to me at all but future times I was either super chatty or even super-fronted at least once when I switched right before.

So if alcohol is same it probably just depends.

I found stuff like that to be good for vivid imagination. Never tried it for making a tulpa, but if I did, it'd probably help me visualize them well. Unfortunately, that skill doesn't stay post-high. Fortunately, the stuff you learn during that high can be very useful for future use.

Business, difficulties developing them. I don't think they ever became verbal, just a vague presence that I drew based on what they wanted, though it's been a very long time since I drew them.

Parrotnoia is a posion, trust me so long as you didn't puppet every past piece of them they were developing

In all fairness, I was, like... 14 to 16? Though, if there's any indication, I'm getting pressure from the back left side of my head, which is what I usually got years ago when I focused on them.

They are definitely there, that's like the calling card of a tulpa, atleast in my experience

The difference between forcing with parrotnoia and without it is just acceptance. The more you try to categorize certain actions as not real the more you diminish your experience. It is indeed, a poison. For the first year I did this, it was parrotnoia all the way, and I was constantly questioning whether their speech was me or not. But literally as soon as that ended, and I overcame that by recognizing how much stronger even a character I wrote could be, the whole experience changed instantly.

I have considered attributing my thoughts where I talk to myself as them, though I never got that sensation when I do it. It's more just me playing devil's advocate, or when people go "Don't be stupid" to themself or something. In any case, I guess the appropriate course of action would be the keep developing them since they're there, just not fully, well, there.

Doing the scrutiny thing is literally anti-tulpamancy. Tulpamancy moves along based on acceptance, it's hypnosis/suggestion.

Just feels weird "abandoning" them, especially since I don't have a specific wonderland for them. My wonderland is more of a story place, where I can act out my characters and see them interact. Most of my focus is developing my visualization techniques for when I'm awake, then my lucid dreaming for when I'm asleep.

Funnily enough, I love the concept of multiple people in one body. My main/favorite character is one who's related to themes of imagination and dreams, and has alter egos/subconscios splits of itself, as well as friends it made for itself.

Those being the characters I think the most about.

It can feel like a failure to let go of a relationship you don't really want. But it isn't. I would definitely suggest you strongly consider what your real desires are rather than some abstract duty you've essentially made up for yourself. Duties have a big potential to ring hollow and just distract you; They need to be based on something real.

I technically could have ignored Shade when they busted into my life, I researched and found tulpamancy because I wanted to see where it would lead. To me it would be kinda wrong to bring a tulpa into reality without any commitment to the process. I can't imagine being a tulpa and knowing your host isn't all that interested in your existence.
